    photo

Just for the record, your birthday is December 18, 2008.

To John and Lois: Just to let you know we all share in the happiness of the beautiful new life you have created! Our love is with your new family.

And to Joshua, I know John and Lois will love you with every ounce of love they have. May you grow up to be a man after God’s heart, and know that if you ever need a sister in Christ, I’ll be there through the blessings and trials. God’s creation is really amazing.. may you live to be the salt and the light here on earth
*If John and Lois don’t spoil you, just know theres a whole group of EM members waiting to spoil you.. so dont worry :D

Wow.. i am 22 years older than you.

  • whats up with these changes on xanga??

i guess its true that nothing ever stays the same..

even xanga has changed dramatically!! my last entry was like 7 months ago..

i’m happy to say its been that long since i started my job at the daycare.. and its been really good..working with these 2-5 year olds can really build your patience with everything.

school ended this past semester strongly.. and then the summer semester begins in a week.. how lovely >.<

if anyones got any tips on taking the content exam for elementary education..let me know.. im taking the exam in the first week of june!

by the way.. happy mothers day!

john’s sermon was a great reminder that we’re “stupid kids”.. we dont show enough appreciation to our parents as much as we should be..

so dont forget to give your mom a long hug.. and thank her for all her hard work.

all i can say is i agree with john that we all have it pretty good… lets just not be spoiled and ignore the benefits and advantages we have compared to some others.

im sad to know that college bible study is over this semester.. congrats on justin and han!! i’m so excited for how God is going to bless you guys this summer as you transition into what i call the “real world” =D

i just thought i write small things for now.. but theres a lot more stuff i’d like to share from youth councils.. again.. that was an awesome weekend!

I’m trying to worship and obey even through the chaos.
Stuff is definitly not going my way right now..but.. i just hope
God is still working in my life through these trials right now.
    i hope.

    everybody enjoy the “indian summer”..
cuz its gonna get cold again soon! >.<

  • I went through some of my past xanga posts yesterday and it was just funny how many of the questions i had back then..were answered throughout these years since.

It’s amazing to see God’s faithfulness in my own life.

I had such a great time with angie, nomhee and catie yesterday. ^^

we had great food from champs and even looked through some interesting books at barnes.

I remember the one about toilets around the world? lol.. who knew people would design some far out designs for toilets? lol

we even ran into some of the church guys at barnes.. shows how we all have nothing to do? lol…

well once summer break starts.. i can’t wait to go visit the movie theaters again.. and just CHILL.. ^^

I think this week and next week are going to be pretty hectic weeks.

This week a nude model will be coming to our art class and so we’ll be learning how to draw the human body.

Then next week portfolios are due. The rest of my finals will be next week and basically i should start studying now lol..

Hope everyone has an awesome week :)

  • Then Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him until daybreak…And he said, “Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel; for you have striven with God and with me and have prevailed.” (Genesis 32:24, 28)

“Heel grabber” is what Jacob’s name means, a name you would expect of a wrestler. Jacob’s entire life up till now was spent calculating his next move and maneuvering to a position of advantage so he could pry from God’s hands so many of the blessings that God in time had wanted to give him anyway.

Now it was God’s turn to grab Jacob’s heel, to wrestle with this fundamental flaw in his nature, and touch him in a way so he would never forget the encounter. Through the ordeal, Jacob learned that God’s blessing comes not from grabbing but from clinging.

There’s something of Jacob in all of us, I think. If so, there must be a night of reckoning for us as well. A night when God finds us alone, grabs us, throws us to the ground, and wrestles with that fundamental flaw in our character. In that dark night of the soul, though He cripples us, in the dawn He blesses us.

For some of us, the crippling is the blessing.
